Matt Hazard is a freelance lighting designer who is currently on staff managing the lighting studio at The Ohio State University Department of Theatre. His recent projects include serving as the lighting director for the Harmony Project concerts at the Ohio Theatre, lighting design for Kenyon College's Fall Dance Concert, and lighting design for La Traviata
with Opera Columbus. He is currently working on the Opera Columbus version of Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio
. Matt has designed numerous Department of Theatre and School of Music productions at Ohio State and several musicals for area high school productions. Matt earned his BA in Theatre and his MFA in Design at Ohio State and has taught and developed classes in the Department of Theatre. He is also an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician and a member of IATSE Local 12.
